From July 8 to 10, at the invitation of the Thai Secretariat of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a Chinese business delegation to Bangkok to attend the Third ABAC Meeting of 2026 and delivered remarks at the closing plenary session.
As Chair of the APEC CEO Summit 2026, Ren briefed on the Summit at the closing plenary and invited the Asia-Pacific business community to gather in Shenzhen this November to join the grand event, deepen cooperation, and seek common development. He expressed the hope that the business community would work together to achieve more fruitful outcomes in Asia-Pacific business cooperation and leave a strong and distinctive “business imprint” on APEC China 2026. During the meeting, Ren also met with ABAC members from the United States, Thailand, New Zealand and other economies to exchange views on jointly advancing cooperation under APEC China 2026 and delivering high-quality outcomes from the business community to the APEC Economic Leaders'Meeting.
During his visit to Thailand, Ren met separately with Narongsak Putthapornmongkol, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce; Vikrom Kromadit, Chairman of the Thailand-China Business Council; and Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of the Charoen Pokphand Group, along with other political and business leaders. He also held working meetings with Akanat Promphan, Thailand’s Minister of Energy; Kirida Bhaopichitr, Vice Minister for Commerce; and Chai Wacharonke, Vice Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives. Ren actively introduced the vision and prospect of APEC China 2026, emphasizing China’s readiness to work with Thailand to deepen industrial and supply chain integration, expand synergy in green energy and digital-intelligent technologies, jointly uphold free trade and multilateralism, and achieve higher-level mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
