Zeng Yuqun is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL).

In 1999, he founded Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) in Dongguan, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman. In 2008, he founded Ningde Amperex Technology Limited (ATL Ningde), where he also served as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman. In 2011, he founded CATL. He has led the company to focus on battery systems for new energy vehicles and energy storage systems, growing into a global industry leader.

He is a Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC).

He holds a doctorate in Condensed Matter Physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is a recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance.
