Mitsuhiro Furusawa, Member for ABAC Japan and Chair of the Finance and Economics Task Force.

Mitsuhiro Furusawa is the President of the Institute for Global Financial Affairs, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).

Previously, he held a number of senior positions, including Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan in France, Minister (Finance) at the Embassy of Japan in the United States, Budget Examiner of the Budget Bureau  at Japan’s Ministry of Finance, IMF Executive Director for Japan, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister and Special Advisor to the Minister of Finance, and Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
